I really enjoy covering these open day events for St. George’s University of London (SGUL), as very little of it is scheduled inside lecture theatres. This means I can approach the shoot as if it were an editorial assignment mingling through the busy crowds looking for interesting snaps. As the majority of courses at SGUL are healthcare orientated, and the largest being medicine the day is set up to give prospective students a practical flavour of what to expect. It’s a really interactive approach getting open day attendees out and about meeting current students (ambassadors) along with staff, and participating in a range of practical skills demonstrations rather than being stuck in a seat all day. This really shows in the photos with staff and students being able to enthusiastically engage with interested looking prospective students.
