Last year I took photos for St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust Long Service and Annual Awards, and it was nice to be invited back again. This time the dinner was held in the more luxurious looking boardrooms with a celebrity compere to oversee the proceedings… more on that later! As was the case last year it was good to see long serving members of the NHS and committed volunteers getting a night in the spotlight.

Local comedian Arthur Smith brought some celebrity dazzle to the occasion along with a lot of laughs. I rather liked how is routine drifted into some territory that you’d find in his stand-up, which made for some good reactions shots from the crowd, particularly ones who weren’t sure if they should be laughing at playful jokes directed at the chief exec! To round off his performance there was brilliantly surreal dance off with one of the award winners at the end… at least that’s what I thought it was!
