I was in Hackney last month taking photos at the Green Papaya, for Time Out’s updated cheap eats guide for 2016. Unassuming from the outside, and sparsely decorated on the inside the real focus here is on the food and it didn’t take long to see why. Not long after I got there it was bustling, and this was a Tuesday night, so I can imagine the weekends are pretty hectic here. I hadn’t Vietnamese food in quite a while, so this was a great opportunity to get reacquainted with the cuisine again once the shoot was finished.
